I have been playing this damn Pokemon game since it came out and have been pretty casual to dedicated to it. In the beginning, I was riding the front wave of the level and after a few months I dropped off the train. It's now hit the point where the forums and raids are getting filled with level 40 players and here I am at level 34. This bothers me and now I have to fix it.
So here is the plan. I am going to try to hit level 40 by the end of September. I will try to get 3 times the amount of experience in 4 months that I have in two years but this time I have a plan. I have a little over 15.2 million of the needed 20 million points. Ill need to average about 83k a day. It's going to consist of evolving large batches and commanding the gyms in my area.
My first step was to figure out how many evolves I can do in an hour. Today I popped an egg and made it through 64 evolves. Two of them took some time because they were new spawn so that slowed me down and I stopped with 4 seconds lost at least one evolve. None the less I made about 70k XP off of it. Using the stash of candy I have and increasing my catch rate, I can do this push every 3 to 4 days. Making up for shortcomings and some.
The field quests came out today and offer a lot less experience then I had hoped. I am going to rely on these a lot less and just stick to a strat of frequently taking the six closest gymes around my house. It doesn't take too long and they are worth a little more then 1.8k XP if it's a full gym. On top of that, I will get even more xp by making the gyms gold and flipping them to my team.
As of now, this looks to be a stretch of a goal. In the past two days, I have only made 50k and 40k, which falls well short of what I need. I have not tallied today but I think it will make up for the previous shortfall. It's going to close. Ill post again at the end of next month to give an update on my progress. Most likely I would have given up.
All this being said. How the fuck do I not have an ex-pass yet?
