Nintendo Finally Went Content Friendly

If you haven't heard by now Nintendo made a huge change in their content policy this week.  For the longest time, Nintendo had taken a hardline approach with their content.  Anyone who used imaged of their characters, games, or copyright assets without their express written consent was up for a possible copyright strike.  You were a bigger target if you decided to monetize said content.  This made it so people who reviewed games or created content from games were the possible target for takedowns, which there were a plethora of.

For some reason this week Nintendo has thrown a 180 and are allowing people to not only use their imagery but also monetize it.  While it's not a free for all on their assets, it does open the door for smaller creators who couldn't get into their previous exclusive group or even creators that fell out of their good graces to start reviewing their materials again.  This is something that it seems everyone but Nintendo had already signed onto but it's good they made their change now then never.
