LoveKami -Divinity Stage-

Visual novels are a dime a dozen on Steam, almost literally.  These quick little stories are definitely a niche and LoveKami -Divinity Stage- by MoeNovel is no different. If you are single, live alone, and nobody is looking over your shoulder you can find some short entertainment value.

Why is the Protagonist Always Prude

Playing on the trope of the main guy being proper in an otherwise perverted fantasy is the line that Divinity Stage flows down.  You will be playing as a fan of these special goddesses that have the talent of singing and dancing while wearing practically nothing at all.  There are pop groups that are filled with the most popular of these goddesses and you will run into two lowly well-endowed goddesses that are hoping to join the most popular one.  There isn't much story beyond that besides a line you can guess if you know anything about these novels.

While the game rests on mature content there is no actual nudity or patches for it.  This might seem like an odd thing to bring up but if you go to any forum of these novels, it's a thing that is brought up... a lot.  The characters are well drawn and this one had a lot more animation than the others I have played through.  While most of the time in these novels you are just staring at static images, LoveKami's spirits move a bit more and have many more facial expressions in the course of dialogue.  The production value is one of the best if not the best I have seen, voice acting included.

There is very little interactivity in this one and I can only remember making a single choice.  One that actually branches two different endings.  Otherwise, it's just a lot of reading and the dialogue is only mediocre.  None of the characters grabbed me with their personality.

A perk to this novel is whatever MoeNovel is building these off of.  There is the ability to save and load with shortcut motion using the right click and mouse.  This allows your "where is my life going" beer in one hand while clicking through dialogue, saving, and loading with the other.

After getting through these visual novels I think I am getting a pretty good grasp of what to expect.  As far as story and dialogue this game barely kept me interested.  It took several weeks to manage through the few hours.  The redeeming quality was the well-made artwork and animations.  The issue is these games aren't just about the animation so my overall feeling is this game was just okay and only worth getting in the event of a discount.

TL;DR:

While LoveKami -Divinity Stage-'s art and mechanics are well done, the story and dialogue left a lot to be desired.
