Summary of Nintendo Direct Mini 3.8.2018

Nintendo has me by the balls and won't let go.  Like a sweet-talking genetically abled women in the club, every time they deliver a message I can't help but devour it up like the needy bastard I am.  Let's talk about the news that came out of Nintendo Direct.

I don't have a 3DS so I just hot skipped through all of that.   Except for rough voiced Pikachu, which makes sense because he has seen some shit and killed a lot.  I mean a lot.

Kirby Star Allies looks good and the demo made the game a buy for me.  I'll have that post tomorrow so I am not going into it here.  This means our first stop is Okami.  It is one of those games I have needed to play and never have.  It's on my steam wishlist but I have failed to buy it so far.  It looks good and since I have all these gold coins to use, why not? Okami was followed by a match 3 sushi game that looks meh.

Octopath Traveler looks better with the updated shadowing and is coming along.  It's pre-order also comes with more merch that can lay around your apartment until you throw it out.  This can sit right next to your new Dark Souls Amiibo, something I would have only thought I would say as a joke.

Mario Tennis Aces looks like fun.  There is something about Mario sports games that just seem to make the most boring of games (golf) far more interesting.  Have you ever tried watching tennis?  It's riveting to some, especially if action is not your thing.  There was a moment of iffyness that I saw in the trailer when you lost your rackets.  My fear is an opening for microtransactions but I am hoping Nintendo refuses to go there.  Too many mobile games are bad for one's psyche.

Captain Toad didn't do anything for me.  It would be fun to play Crash again.  Listening to the announcer's inflection with South Park: The Fractured But Whole was hilarious.  No matter how hard you try you can't dodge it.  Hyrule Warriors in May is a closer than I had expected.  I never got into Splatoon but the new content looks interesting.

Now let's talk about one of the best teasers I have seen in recent history.  Right after 2 Splatoon ads, it looked like we were on to number 3 until the epic drop of a logo a lot of us know so well.  Super Smash Bros is coming out for the Switch and what is more, it has a 2018 release date.  We are getting it this year! This is by far the biggest news of this direct and of course, they left us hungry for more.

All in all another great half hour. More of my money needs to be set aside for a good number of titles that are coming in.  The Switch is on fire and it keeps on blazing. This is even before the third party developers, who were on the edge, start finishing their full titles.  Now if I could only find a way to quit this pesky job I have to clear up some time for the important things.

Final thought:  What the hell is up with that video player on Nintendo's website. It has like 6 spots in the video you can click through.
