That is if you can find one. Just a heads up this is going to be a fanboy post for Nintendo so if you don't care go ahead and skip today's post. I ended getting the Switch on the day it was released because the new Zelda looked amazing and I really like the concept of being able to be playing a game on my TV then quickly taking the console with me. I don't usually buy consoles because PC gaming is far more affordable after you build your rig. Humble Bundles and summer sales constantly provide a saturation of good games and.
The Switch provided just enough incentive to make it worth the purchase but after buying it I started to tell people to wait. The console came out with the bare bones of available games and until recently Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the only game I saw worth owning. The inclusion of indi games added to the list but once again that list started out pretty small and there weren't any titles that I would tell people they had to play.
With the release of Mario + Rabbids, FIFA coming out next month, and Mario Odyssey in October the console now has worth behind it. With FIFA its funny because I usually skip sports games because they tend to be a clone of the previous year but the thought of the portability of the Switch along with its ease of connection to other consoles has made this more than appealing.
I do admit the craftsmanship of the console isn't the greatest that Nintendo has done. The controllers have more give when connected to the screen then I want so you can feel them shift a little. The single controllers are a little small so it can be a little rough when playing two players on single console. The battery life is also only good for around 3-6 hours based on the game you are playing. The stand is a little weak as well.
All of this aside the ability to not have to stop just because you have to go the outside is really cool. I am on a trip right now but that has not stopped me from playing because of it's portability. The way sleep mode works is great too because it holds your game at your current state so you are able to just wake it up and keep gaming. I love that I do not have to wait on the title screen or load time when I want to play and I can just jump in.
I think Nintendo nailed it with this console and it is more then worth the addition to a gaming setup even if you are PC gamer. There really isn't anything that is on this level on the market right now. With the library growing with games that are knocking it out of the ball park it's time to start searching for one if you have hesitated.
